It is Autumn, and I am home.
This morning, as I walked MacKenzie, I stopped and sat on a bench and looked at the mountains. Such changes in the landscape and colors and topography!
Such changes for me these last few months too.
July found me in the US, in Maryland and New England and Iowa and Illinois, visiting family and friends-who-are-family and reconnecting with the American people I love. It was also a reconnection with my “former life” – discovering that who I was is still who I am.
August found Amy coming to Norway with me. Seeing my new country through her eyes was a blessing, and watching her mature and connect with the people around her was a proud momma moment.
September found Jan and me in Italy, in the favorite area of Tuscany that he has felt his connection to for more than 15 years. Being a foreigner in ANOTHER foreign country brought up mixed emotions in me.
And now I am home. And I FEEL home. Norway, and Modalen especially, are my home and it is so good to be back and reconnecting with THIS part of my life.
My new life.
