That just looks so peaceful.

It does, doesn’t it? It’s a close-up from last Wednesday’s perspective, just down the “hill” and across the fjord from us on the island of Lysøen.

That looks beautiful, quite and such an ideal spot to live.

It’s an old farm from the 1600’s, across the fjord on an island. Very beautiful, yes — and, in a hard winter when the fjord freezes, very remote!

From the 1600s. It would be amazing to live back then.

Beautiful calm scene to wake up to, Cindi.
It’s my morning view too — if the weather’s nice and we’re not fogged in! 🙂

So nice, nydelig sted.

Jeg er enig, Bente, det er et nydelig sted! Det er på Lysøen, nær Ole Bulls Villa.

Oh, I just don’t know how you can put up with it! [big grin] Wonderful.

It’s a difficult job, but *someone* has to do it. [big grin back at you]
Now, if only my adult daughters were closer, I’d really feel as if life was perfect! 🙂

What an amazing picture cindi! I wanted to ask you about a Norwegian TV serie, although I know it’s not related to your post. Is Lilyhammer TV serie worth watching? Of course if you know it and watched it yourself. Thanks!

I’ve not watched it, so can’t offer personal thoughts on it — but several friends have and really like it. I think it would be something I’d enjoy; if you do watch it, let me know what YOU think! 🙂

So many Norwegian homes are painted red. Does it have a specific name/significance? I’ve always wondered!

A good question! You do see a lot of red, yellow, blue, or white houses — and each color is a very specific shade. Originally, the color showed the financial situation of the owner. I found this site that describes it better than I can.
